Stitch by Stitch is a small, home-based business that offers crocheted and machine knitted products in addition to basic sewing and mending services.

Tanya is the owner of Stitch by Stitch and is a Smithers local who has spent the last 14 years practicing the art of crochet. After more than a decade of crafting everything from complex garments to cozy home essentials, she is returning to the basics to help a new generation of makers get started.

Tanya understands that the first few rows are often the hardest, which is why she’s designed this workshop to be a fun, low-pressure environment. Her goal is to take the mystery out of the hook and yarn, guiding you through the creation of a hot pad for mugs or warm dishes.

Participants will learn how to do beginner level crochet skills and will learn how to make their own hot pad. Each person will go home with a beginner crochet kit and patterns with extra yarn to make more items at home.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
